Today is a bit of a choose yourown adventure: write (paint, draw, photograph, record, etc.) about your bestexperience this year. If that's not your cup of joe, write about your worstexperience. Feeling chatty? Share both your best and worst moments.
This year has been quite a mixture of experiences, not all of them good,but some good ones have been, getting the opportunity to visit my father and my extended family. My dad is 76 years old now and still working every day, so he doesn't get alot of time off. I sorted out some things around the house that had seemed "impossible" before when I wasn't the one organising them. I have reconnected with some amazing friends, some I haven't seen for more than 16 years. I have made so many new friends, more in the past year than I have made in the past 20 years. People have shown me a kindness I haven't previously expereinced. I have learnt to stand up for myself ..... fairly. Also realising I am far more capable than I ever give myself credit for.
The not so good have been sitting at the hospital waiting for my daughter to be operated on twice this year. Realising that I would have to be the one that manipulated the frame fixed to the bones in her arm. Having to deal with the court system, something I am learning to be better at. Dealing with more authorities than you could shake a stick at.
On balance things have been okay. I am so looking forward to 2012 though!
