Having been back and forth lately to the ospital and DD recovering from surgery on Friday to remove the frame, we intended this morning to laze around drinking tea and reading before setting out on a little excursion to visit a craft fair we had been told about. Destiny however had other plans. Our cat started going beserk just before 8am as I was making said tea! Opening the front door I found a small shivering ginger tom cat. I found out later that ginger cats are always male - who knew? Getting quickly washed and dressed we set out to find out where he lived, to no avail. So he came home with us and sat in a warm box filled with a fluffy towel and promptly went to sleep. A Maincoon (ginger and white) kept coming to sit with him on the step. I was hopeful that the kitten would find its way home and knew encouraging it indoors was asking for trouble. I did feed it, knowing full well this was a bad plan as we might never get it to move on. After door knocking endless doors and being told repeatedly that "No I don't recognise it", I decided we would take a chance and visit the local animal hospital in the hope there might be staff on duty. Luckly there was and good news he was microchipped. His owners were telephoned and they came straightaway to collect him. We discovered he had been missing since Tuesday and we think the fireworks last night for bonfire night must have driven him to the quiet and dark of our doorstep to get away from them. Our own cat was very tolerant and it made us appreciate just how calm and laid back he is.
So as it was late, too late to go on the planned trip we decided to visit our favourite coffee shop in the bookstore and relax. In there at the table next to us was a lady and her husband who we got talking to. The connections and similarities were amazing, we exchanged business cards and she told me about a forthcoming business meeting, which I might try to attend. Strange how these things happen.
Finally I just wanted to pass along a link to a website that was passed to me. The website is called Writing our Way Home. They have available on their website a number of writing based online workshops you can sign up for as well as a book you can download for free, the link is here! I am thinking I might sign up to one of their workshops.
